Are you looking for a diet that encourages holistic healing? Something simple but most importantly makes sense!
Reasons to live cleaner is let go of excess weight, improve digestion, clean the liver and just to feel better with more energy.
The best cleansing eating plans are simple full of fresh food which nourishes you body that is also easy to digest so that your gut (spleen energy) can transform and transport the food into energy.

The Essentials
Commit to an eating plan with tasks you must do everyday so you actually can notice and feel a difference.
Drink 2-3 litres of water per day. Filtered water is best as it doesn’t contain fluoride or chlorine. This includes plenty of hydrating drinks such as herbal tea, ginger tea, home made natural smoothies, cold-pressed juices and sticky chai is a good replacement for those wanting to avoid coffee.
Exercise every day for at least 45 minutes. So important to support your body release toxins, calm the mind, and help your body process all the food. Preferably in nature to release the positive ions that we accumulate in the house, office and wifi etc.
Go for a sauna every week to sweat out toxins, especially if you feel sluggish, cold or have water retention.

Diet
A cleansing diet is based on fresh, healing foods. Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. In summer you can have a lot, in winter and on colder days have more cooked, poached and warming versions. Lots of fruits, vegetables and salads. This is the primary food group. Garnish with lots of fresh herbs.
Simple, natural and health forms of protein such as lentils, egg, tofu/tempeh (soy MUST bE organic), when cleansing it is best to avoid meat and dairy. Nuts and seeds (can be soaked for better absorption).
Good carbohydrates that support your stomach; fresh rice, soaked oats in porridge or bircher muesli, essene (sprouted) bread, purple potatoes and root vegetables like beetroot, carrot, pumpkin & sweet potato. Home made seed crackers.

Enjoy foods which support gut health such as bone broth, miso soup, kombucha and proper fermented sauerkraut or kimchi.
Soups and stews are great for people with weak digestion, and yes you can have them in summer just use more seasonal veggies like zucchini and tomato etc.
For sweet cravings try fresh fruit, dried fruit, fresh dates and bliss balls (home made).
Avoid List – What To Avoid… Keep Your Boundaries
If you want to heal and cleanse it is so important to avoid what is holding your back and there will be a lot that is!
Caffeine – reduce and avoid coffee and black tea. It’s dehydrating and drains your adrenal glands. Replace with dandelion tea, chai or green tea and other herbal blends

Dairy – most dairy. In my opinion some grass-fed butter and ghee is ok as it’s so good for your bones and teeth. But avoid most dairy products; Goats cheese is good as is Buffalo ricotta.
Wheat – wheat is an essential one to avoid it causes lots of inflammation and bloating for people. If that’s not enough consider avoiding gluten. So many grains cause inflammation for people. Plenty of other grains to enjoy such as buckwheat, rice, amaranth etc.
Avoid all processed drinks, foods and powders.

Avoid processed sugar it is the root of all health issues, teeth, blood sugar, high cholesterol. Processed sugar creates instant inflammation in the body.
Health tip: enjoy 1 tsp/tbsp of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice in water before meals for extra digestive support. Use a straw: its harsh on your teeth.
