Jing Tonic Bliss Balls

Do you crave sweets? In Traditional Chinese medicine this is a spleen deficiency. The spleen is responsible for transforming your food into blood and energy. When you crave sweets regularly your spleen qi is struggling. Instead of eating sugar which depletes and ages you, feed your body with foods that are naturally sweet and rich in antioxidants to keep you young and full of energy. This recipe is full of ingredients that tonify your Jing (essence), aka hormones! A simple recipe and you can use your favourite nuts and dried fruits to replace.

Jing Tonic Bliss Balls

10 minutes preparation, 40 minutes total time (including refrigeration), makes around 10 bliss balls

Ingredients

130g nuts (almonds/Brazil, walnut etc) minerals & fats

50g natural dried coconut (minerals & fats)

75g pitted dates (blood tonic)

80g carrot (or beetroot for extra blood tonic benefits)

1 heaped teaspoon cacao (magnesium & minerals)

1 teaspoon cinnamon (warms the blood & circulation)

1 teaspoon dried ginger (treats the gut, rich in zinc)

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg (anti-parasitic, warming)

Method

Place all ingredients in blender and chop until mixture is fine. Then roll the mixture into balls. Can roll them in dried coconut, seeds or cacao. Enjoy when you feel that sugar craving. Keep them in a glass container in the fringe and enjoy over the week.
